On August 8th, 2023, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the beautiful and traditional Jewish wedding ceremony of Zoey and Adam. The day was filled with love, laughter, and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, making it a truly unforgettable Saxe Point Park wedding. After the ceremony we all headed to their reception at the Chabad of Vancouver Island for dinner, speeches and dancing!
Zoey and Adam’s love story began in February 2018, when they met the old-fashioned way – on JSwipe, or as they call it – Jewish Tinder. Adam was visiting Victoria for Shabbat dinner at his grandmother’s house, and the two instantly connected. They spent that night sharing stories about their travels in Southeast Asia, comparing Ashkenazi and Moroccan cuisine, and playing Jewish geography. It was a night filled with sparks that would ignite their future together.
Despite the distance that soon separated them, with Adam relocating to Victoria, British Columbia for work while Zoey was in graduate school in Montreal, their love never wavered. They made the most of red-eye flights, exploring the Pacific Northwest, indulging in fish tacos at Red Fish Blue Fish, and binge-watching Guy’s Grocery Games. The pandemic brought them back together in Montreal, where they settled into their first apartment and welcomed a furry friend, Nori, into their lives. 🐈
Adam’s proposal to Zoey on June 4th, 2022, in Toronto was nothing short of magical. During a road trip to see Zoey’s favorite comedian, Tig Notaro, Adam proposed in front of a breathtaking view of downtown Toronto. He even had a photographer secretly capture the moment, making it an incredibly special and cherished memory.
Saxe Point Park was the perfect setting for Adam and Zoey’s intimate wedding. It is one of my favourite outdoor wedding venues in Victoria BC. The park’s natural beauty, with its panoramic views of the ocean and lush greenery, created a picturesque backdrop for their special day. Jewish traditional also required them to face North for the ceremony, and Saxe Point Park offered their favourite backdrop with this criteria in mind.
The couple’s love for each other was evident in every careful detail, from the heartfelt looks to the joyous celebrations that followed. The ceremony was a beautiful blend of tradition and personal touches, reflecting their journey together and their shared Jewish heritage.
One of my favorite moments was capturing Zoey and Adam’s first look. The joy and excitement on their faces was positively contagious, and the serene beauty of Saxe Point Park provided the perfect backdrop for this tender moment.
Congratulations, Zoey and Adam! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful journey. Your Saxe Point Park wedding was one to remember, and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together ❤️
