What I’m Leaving Behind in 2024

With year-end reflection comes the opportunity to let go of bad habits and mindsets that no longer serve us. For me, 2025 will be about shedding the weight of unnecessary guilt and striving for better work-life balance:

1. Guilt over ‘guilty pleasures’: Life’s too short not to embrace the things that bring joy—even if it’s thoroughly enjoying “bad” romcoms or indulging in cheesy music choices. I’ve decided they’re simply pleasures and deserve no shame.
2. Overworking myself during peak wedding season: I love my job, and I LOVE my clients, which means it’s very hard to say, ‘no’, even when I know I should. I’ve realized the importance of pacing myself. This summer taught me that rest is just as crucial as hard work.

Goals for 2025

Looking ahead, I’m setting intentions to bring more joy, creativity, and balance into the new year. Here’s what I’m excited to focus on:

1. 🥰 Monthly hangouts with friends: Prioritizing connection and creating space for good conversation and laughter.
2. 📚 Reading 40 books: There’s nothing quite like getting lost in a great story or learning something new. (Feel free to send recommendations my way!)
3. 📸 Attending a photography conference: I want to completely immerse myself in new ideas and meet more photographers.
4. 🌎 Exploring a new destination: Whether it’s across the globe or a hidden gem close to home, travel always leaves me inspired.
5. 🎉 Trying something completely new: Life’s about growth, and stepping outside my comfort zone is how I plan to embrace it. (Any adventurous suggestions?)
